This is a busy blog post. If you are in a rush, you can just admire the pictures of Aaron.
So I found this meetup group online. It is women with toddlers who live in the area and they get together to do all sorts of things. I am pathologically shy, so I thought a predetermined place where we could just, you know, talk about the kids, would be great. I RSVP'ed yes to a meetup happening today at one of those indoor play places. The place was great. Aaron ran around, went down slides, played in the ball pit, threw up a little in the ball pit, and generally went bananas. As for the other moms, I don't know. Literally. I did not meet a single person. There was no little sign or anything and there was certainly no one looking for me. It was very busy, so I got up every last ounce of courage I had and started asking around. After the sixth person said that she was not from that group, I gave up. Like I said, Aaron had a great time. But this is why I avoid social things. Even when I'm spposed to be there, I end up feeling alone and unwanted. I hope that I don't pass that on to Aaron.
In happier news, we joined the town pool for the summer and Aaron LOVES it. He loves the baby pool, which is 1 foot deep and has lots of communal toys (he thinks they are all his) and likes to be carried around in the big pool. The only thing he doesn't like is sitting still on a towel for five freaking minutes. Unless there are snacks. Then he is willing to give you a minute or two of his time. I hate the pictures of me, because I generally hate pictures of me. Enough said.

I think we look like celebs who were caught in the middle of their vacation.

The freshwater trucks are delicious around here

Aaron has also become...helpful...around the house. He likes to move things around. He does not always keep notes as to where he placed them. Mike found a ticket to a concert in the trash. One of my work shoes was underneath a bag that was where it shouldn't have been. But what he likes most is to recycle. Sometimes he takes out one thing from the bin and brings it to, say, the living room, which is where this detergent bottle ended up. Sometimes, he moves the whole bin.

I found Aaron an Elmo chair and could not pass it up. It's nice for him to have somewhere to sit while we watch TV or I do stuff in the kitchen. I love the little video. I don't know who taught him to say "cheese" when a camera is pointed at him, but it is so funny. As I was driving home from the store, I was startled by the big Elmo eyes every time I looked in the rear view mirror.
