The other TO has to do with Bouts. Poor Bouts. I had him on the leash during a walk with Aaron in the stroller. Aaron dropped Elmer out of the stroller, but I didn't notice. A teenager across the street did, ran in front of traffic, scooped up the wayward elephant and ran toward us yelling. Bouts got startled, went into defense mode, and bit the kid on the leg. As far as I could tell, there was no bleeding and the kid was fine. I apologized to the kid, thanked him for retrieving Elmer and explained that you can't come running up behind a dog. Unfortunately, the car he ran in front of was driven by a cop, who pulled over and started yelling at the kid. Before we knew it, there were THREE police officers yelling at him. I explained what had happened and that the kid was just trying to do something nice. They took down the kid's info and then took down my info and Bouts's info. I didn't hear anything for two weeks, but last week, I got a letter saying that Bouts had to be under quarantine to watch for signs of rabies for 10 days. No going off of our property. Bouts's shots are all up to date, including his rabies vaccine. He has to be certified by a vet to go back into public. Until then, house arrest.
In lighter news, Aaron has become quite the structural engineer. He is able to stack 10 blocks before giving in to the overwhelming urge to knock them down. He has also mastered the lego, as seen here:
Aaron is also sporting a new sweater that I finished over the weekend:
(flanked of course by little cars)
