Aaron 3.0

Aaron is a big three year old now! All the things he's been putting off until age three are now going to be required- eating with a fork all the time, brushing teeth twice a day and, most importantly, he has been upgraded to underwear instead of diapers. Today was the day. There were a couple of accidents, but he also went in the toilet a couple of times. It's going to be a learning process for all of us.

On Saturday, his actual birthday, we had a party with his favorite friends and their parents. We ended up with a lot of people here! I have to say, I'm particularly proud of the cake, which I made myself (with a little assistance from my mom). Candy rocks, kit kat bars for I-beams, crumbled cookies for dirt.

Before we had cake, there was pizza and there were blowers. The boy loves party blowers.

When everyone sang happy birthday, I thought he was going to grin himself to death. He was so excited and giggly.

But he was happiest when he got to take the construction trucks off the cake and play with them. He and Quinn played with them for such a long time!

Despite the admonition not to bring gifts, many people did. Stuart was unable to come to the party, but he sent a wonderful new tricycle. It's so cool and old-timey.
